Tests of RiboZol™ extracted mRNA confirms that it is a fully suitable template for cDNA synthesis. In side-by-side comparisons, RiboZol™ extracted mRNA equaled results obtained with mRNA extracted with a competitor’s reagent.

RiboZol™ Plus RNA Purification Kit

A simple 2 part RNA purification procedure that combines an initial extraction step with RiboZol™ RNA Extraction Reagent followed by spin column chromatography to generate high yields of purified, concentrated total RNA.
- The proprietary spin column matrix binds RNA while the unwanted protein and DNA are washed through.
- RNA is eluted with supplied Elution Buffer.
o Excellent recovery of large RNAs such as rRNA and mRNA.
o Superior recovery of small RNAs including miRNA and siRNA.
o Compatible with downstream applications including qRT-PCR.
RiboZol™ Plus Kit enhances recovery of small RNA species. 5x106 K562 cells were isolated with RiboZol™ RNA Extraction Reagent, and further purified with RiboZol™ Plus Purification Kit Columns (lane 2-3) or Competitor’s Purification Kit Columns (lanes 4-5). Arrow indicates small RNA species that are recovered in greater abundance with the columns used in the RiboZol™ Plus RNA Purification Kit compared to Competitor’s Kit columns.

Supplied as a 200X concentrate, Gold-N-Gel™ RNA Stain is a non-mutagenic, fluorescent in-gel stain for immediate visualization of RNA bands on denaturing agarose gels. Gold-N-Gel™ RNA Stain is compatible with most standard protocols for denaturing electrophoresis of RNA fragments. Bands are immediately visible upon illumination with UV light. A standard Ethidium Bromide filter can be used for gel documentation.

Gold-N-Gel™ RNA staining compared to Ethidium Bromide staining (without destaining washes). Data provided by Jeff Coller, Ph.D., Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Total RNA was denatured in loading buffer at 65°C for 10 minutes and loaded onto a 2% formaldehyde denaturing agarose gel containing 0.002% Ethidium Bromide or Gold-N-Gel™ RNA Dye. After electrophoresis the RNA was visualized on a UV transilluminator with an Ethidium Bromide filter.
RNA EZ-Vision Dye as Loading Buffer
A non-mutagenic alternative to ethidium bromide for RNA

RNA EZ-Vision™ is a non-mutagenic fluorescent dye for staining RNA bands resolved on denaturing agarose gels containing formaldehyde. Supplied in a 1.5X loading buffer, RNA EZ-Vision™ dye stains RNA during the denaturation immediately prior to gel loading. The dye comigrates with the RNA samples during electrophoresis and provides immediate band visualization upon illumination with UV light. No post run staining or destaining is needed. The loading buffer includes formamide and bromophenol blue tracking dye.
- Ideal for environments needing to reduce use of ethidium bromide
- Recommended for denaturing agarose gels with formaldehyde
